I’m an entertainer. I love having people in my home. But you know what comes with that…the stress of food and clean up. For real though, its not something I look forward too…anyone else?!
Want to know what my go too is? Charcuterie Boards!
Here is a link on how you pronounce it if you need a little help.
Charcuterie boards are no new thing. In fact some might say they are trendy. But they actual originate back to the 15th century cheese and cured meat shops and boards. Obviously they have made a big comback in the entertaining industry. Grazing tables are another form of how the Charcuterie Board has evolved.
THEY. ARE. GENIUS!!! For those like me who like to have friends over a lot or host parties its the best kind of grazing fair and easy prep-work. Easy clean up. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Lately I have been keeping Charcuterie board supplies on hand in my fridge and pantry. It has been a lifesaver.
Sooooo, I thought it would be fun to put together a board that is a little more themed for Halloween.
My recipe for a good (easy) Charcuterie Board:
2-3 cheeses + 2 meats + 2-3 fruits + 2-3 relish items + 2-3 nuts/seeds = AMAZING!
What I’m using for this board and what I typically keep on hand (**)…
- Merlot Bellavitano Cheese
- Mature English Coastal Cheddar **
- Fresh Mozzarella Balls (Toss in Pesto if you like)
- Green Olives**
- Black Olives**
- Pepperonis** (kid friendly)
- Salami** (kid friendly)
- Grapes**
- Plums
- Blackberries**
- Roasted Pumkin Seeds
- Salt & Pepper Pistachios**
- Walnuts**
- Trail Mix**
- Almond Flour Crackers**
- Ritz Crackers**
Start with your cheeses. Spread them out around the board.
Add containers of seeds/nuts.
Stack or line up meats and place olives around board in small glass containers.
Fill in with fruits and veggies.
I love how the colors turned out and its all things I know my family will eat. Mostly. Add a skeleton hand, skull, crow and creepy cloth for desired Halloween effect!
Have fun!
