We’re talking all about why it’s a good idea to invest in fresh florals, specifically in your homes. I think I might make that a hashtag. #investinfresh Catchy, eh?!
I’ve teamed up with talented floral designer Jessica Hardin who shares FIVE reasons that investing in fresh flowers regularly and adding them into your surrounding or home is worth the investment and goes beyond “just pretty”. (all photos by Jessica Hardin)
fresh FLOWERS clean the air & AND ADD HUMIDITY THROUGH WINTER MONTHS
Flowers add oxygen and humidity to the area. In the winter months in dry climates you need all the humidity you can get. Studies have also shown that they filter the air and leave it feeling more refreshed.
fresh FLowers can add style to the design of your home
Flowers can compliment your interior design and bring in a natural living element to the space. They also provide a quick update or facelift. We talk about paint being a quick easy update to a house…but flowers are way faster and have the ability to match different personalities depending on the color and style you choose.
FRESH FLOWERS CAN IMPROVE YOUR MOOD
Adding bright florals and having a natural element surrounding you has been shown to improve mood. Especially in the winter months and for those who suffer from Seasonal affective disorder, studies have shown that they can make your mood better and also to help you connect better with the people around you
.
FRESH FLOWERS CAN AID IN RELAXATION
While the color and style of chosen florals can help increase energy, certain types of flower have the ability to aid in relaxation. Their aurmoatheraputic properties and added oxygen they create help create an atmosphere of relaxation.
flowers can make you compassionate & are a truly unique gift
Fresh flowers are individuals, each stem and arrangement is unique and perfectly imperfect. So it makes it a really meaningful personal, gift when you invest in an interesting arrangement that a loved one can watch bloom over a course of a few days. A Harvard Study in 2006 also, noticed a correlation to visibly seeing fresh flowers in the home that increased their happiness and at the same time were more compassionate to others around them.
Investing in fresh flowers seems like it has more benefits that just “pretty”. What do you think? Personally, every time I go to Trader Joes i grab a bunch of greenery or flowers and its something I am more than happy to pay for.
