“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
We are getting into the Holiday spirit early this year at the LeBaron Household. Or trying to make 2020 end faster. Its sixes at the moment.
Halloween gets a bad wrap in the design community…sometimes it can be a little too cheesy, too gorey, too everything. I get it. Its a lot. And making it feel cohesive is hard while keeping it fun and festive for yourself and family as well. But sometimes you just gotta have fun!
My tips…
#1 – Keep it simple. A skull on some books. A crow perched on the top of the shelf. A spider web over books.
#2 – Make it “go” with the rest of your decor. Don’t use a bunch of orange Halloween in your house if you don’t have any orange or warmer colors going on in it already.
#3 – Don’t overthink it. Its suppose to be a little bit crazy and fun. Don’t worry about what a big designer would do. Just have fun.
#4 – Pick a few areas. Your entry shelf, open shelving, mantle and dining table for example. It is too overwhelming to think about doing every inch of your home and you are not the Haunted Mansion at Disney Land. So ease up and focus in on a couple spots.
